Supporting Your Nervous System

ree

Hi friends,

Each season has a way of inviting us to pause, reflect and check in. Last month, we talked about letting go, releasing what no longer serves us. But once we do that, there’s this open space waiting to be filled with something new. When the trees let go of their leaves, they don’t mourn the loss, they prepare for renewal. And in our own lives, the same can be true.

Now it’s time to ask: What do I want to add in?

At Renewed Mentality, we talk a lot about the nervous system because it’s really at the center of how we experience life. It’s what helps us feel safe, grounded, and connected. And when it’s out of balance, everything can feel just a little harder.

So this fall, I want to challenge you to think about what you can add in that helps your nervous system feel supported and at ease.

Add in Rest. Real rest — not just sitting still while your mind keeps spinning. Maybe that means closing your eyes for a few deep breaths, taking a walk without your phone, or just letting yourself slow down for a minute.

Add in Regulation. Your nervous system loves rhythm and routine. Try simple grounding practices. Feel your feet on the floor, notice your surroundings, or place a hand on your heart and focus on your breath when things feel overwhelming.

Add in Joy and Connection. We all need moments that remind us we’re safe and connected. That could be coffee with a friend, time outside, or something as simple as a good laugh. Joy is regulating, too.

Add in Neurofeedback. If you’ve been curious about neurofeedback, it’s one of the best tools we use to help the brain and nervous system find calm again. It’s gentle, non-invasive, and helps your brain learn what balance feels like.

Here at Renewed Mentality, we’re all about supporting the whole self. Whether you’re walking through anxiety, trauma, or just feeling out of rhythm, we’re here to help you find your way back to balance.

So as you move through this season, ask yourself: What can I add in that helps me feel more grounded and at peace?

It doesn’t have to be big or complicated. Small things done with intention can make a big difference. You deserve to feel calm, steady, and safe in your own body.

With warmth,

Alisha
